Course Overview

What is the Door Supervisor refresher course?

Security team members on duty outside a venue during a busy evening
Not a full retrain. Two focused days that update what you know and prove it on paper and in practice.

The refresher is a short, intensive top-up for people who already hold, or have only recently lost, an SIA Door Supervisor licence. Instead of repeating the full six-day qualification, it concentrates on the areas the SIA has strengthened in recent years and checks that your practical skills still meet today's standard.

Since 1 April 2025, Door Supervisors renewing their licence need to show refresher training where their original qualification pre-dates the updated syllabus. Passing this course gives you the certificate you need to move on to your renewal. It is always worth confirming your own position on the SIA website before you book.

What you can expect

  • Small-group teaching from trainers with real door and venue experience.
  • Hands-on practice in pairs, so the skills are fresh when you are back on shift.
  • Clear assessments at the end of each unit, with guidance on how to prepare.
